Buenos días!

Hoy os hablaré sobre el libro de Nick Hornby, "About a boy".

La verdad es que esta historia no ha conseguido captar mi interés hasta casi el final del libro, donde sí he tenido ganas de saber cómo iba a acabar.

Considero que pasa demasiados capítulos poniéndonos en situación; explicándonos la personalidad de los protagonistas, o centrándose mucho en sus pensamientos, pero con pocos sucesos, cosa que lo hace menos atractivo y más aburrido.

Además, la impresión que me ha dado al leerlo ha sido como si el final estuviera incompleto, con poco detalle, o escrito con ganas de acabar la historia, y siendo ésta la parte más interesante del libro, deja al lector un poco desconcertado. En mi caso, esa sensación se resume en: ¿y ya está? ¿así acaba?. Aunque debo admitir que me ha gustado que el final no sea el que se espera al empezar a leer el libro; de otra forma hubiera sido demasiado previsible.

También es cierto que es una lectura amena y tiene algunos toques de humor y de reflexión que están bastante bien, así que, si os animáis con el inglés, ¡dadle una oportunidad!

I just meant there were always one or two things that seemed unfinished, things I wanted to follow through. Like you want to see the next episode of NYPD Blue. (...) Little things like that, but there was always something. And in the end I realized there would always be something, and that those somethings would be enough'. She looked up from the remmants of her biscuit and laughed, embarrassed. 'That's what I think, anyway'."
